A Berlin nightclub named Abstrakt has opened, offering clubbers a “playful experience”. The club has opened in the space once occupied by Mensch Meier. It is a sister venue to Anomalie Art Club and there are plans to host joint events in the future. The club launched with a lineup including Schwrzwälder, Mimi Love, and TiM TASTE. Abstrakt has been fitted with Funktion-One sound systems and covers genres including house, techno, downtempo, and trance.
Anomalie and Abstrakt hope to build a “bigger community where art, music, consistency and culture immerse together. Everyone can be part of it,” according to a club spokesperson. It was established with a “more diverse music policy” than Anomalie, which has a strong reputation for techno bookings. Full line-ups and tickets for Abstrakt are available online.

Trade union Clubcommission said that the agreement on wages and conditions was a “historical day” and was a “milestone” for workers in the Berlin club scene. The agreement applies to thousands of staff employed from entry level to management positions.
The proposals to safeguard Berlin’s cultural scene have been in gestation for some time, with activists warning that increasing property prices were threatening venues. The fund is part of a drive to protect culture in a city that has long been known for it, and which attracts millions of tourists each year
