An assortment of Andrew Weatherall’s original studio equipment is currently up for auction through Soundgas. The collection features 12 pieces of music gear, including vintage synthesizers, sequencers, and pedals, which are being sold on behalf of the late DJ and producer’s family. Soundgas, known for their expertise in rare and vintage recording gear and musical instruments, is hosting the auction, which will conclude on Sunday, May 11, at 11:PM BST.
Among the items in the collection are a Roland Rhythm TR-77 drum machine, a Moog Rogue synthesizer, two Roland keyboards, a Sequential Circuits Pro synth, a Tech 21 Comptortion pedal, and more. Andrew’s brother, Ian, mentioned that the family has preserved his entire archive in storage, with plans for a future exhibition. Ian emphasized the importance of utilizing the equipment to create and push boundaries, ensuring it is cherished by those who appreciate Andrew’s musical contributions.
Bidding for the auction began on Friday, May 2, with certain pieces like the Roland Juno-60 keyboard and Latronic Notron MIDI Step Sequencer already receiving bids of over £1,000 each.
