Local police in Bristol shut down a massive illegal rave at an abandoned factory over the weekend, which reportedly drew in approximately 600 attendees. Avon and Somerset Police received reports of the unlicensed event taking place at a disused factory on Poplar Way, Avonmouth, on Saturday evening. Upon arrival, authorities found the rave already in full swing.

The illicit gathering persisted throughout the entire night, ultimately concluding at 8 AM on Sunday morning with a significant police presence consistently monitoring the situation. Despite the police intervention, the rave managed to continue until the following morning, at which point it ended without any major incidents occurring. Following the event, four individuals ranging from 15 to 61 years old were arrested by Avon and Somerset Police, and equipment used for the music was confiscated.

According to Chief Inspector Karen Corrigan, dispersing a large crowd of intoxicated individuals in the dark could have potentially escalated the situation and posed more risks. Fortunately, law enforcement resources were successfully deployed to conclude the event without any significant harm coming to those involved. It is not the first time such illegal raves have taken place in the area, with a similar incident involving over 2,000 attendees at a warehouse on Poplar Way in Avonmouth being reported in late 2023.

In the aftermath of the event, attendees, shared their experiences on social media platforms like Reddit, expressing positive sentiments about the rave. Comments ranged from praising the party atmosphere to labeling it as one of the best raves they had ever been to.
