A recent Willy Wonka-inspired event held in Glasgow had to be cancelled after attendees were left bitterly disappointed. Advertised as a “journey filled with wondrous creations,” the House of Illuminati-organised event proved to be a disappointment, with the sparsely-decorated warehouse featuring sad-looking props and a small bouncy castle. Children were offered only a half-cup of lemonade and a small ration of jelly beans, leaving parents, who had paid up to £35 for a ticket, so appalled they called the police.

Adding to the mayhem was The Unknown, a mysterious character who appeared from behind a mirror to whimpering children. Video footage of the silver-masked character went viral, with millions of views. The Unknown was eventually unmasked as 16-year-old Felicia, who was thrilled that her first paid acting job has gone viral. The script for the performance, which was said to be the result of artificial intelligence, featured The Unknown as an evil rival chocolate maker who lived in walls and was attempting to steal Willy’s “Anti-Graffiti Gobstopper”.

Felicia, who played The Unknown, said that there weren’t any rehearsals, with the actors instead being told to improvise on the day. She said that she was given no direction except to try and act creepy. However, the performance was left in disarray when the event descended into chaos. Felicia said that her concerns about the performance intensified just 45 minutes after the doors opened.

Despite the event being abruptly cancelled and causing uproar, Felicia said that the response to her performance had been positive on the whole. She added: “It was so ridiculous it was actually funny. And now it’s become viral, it’s genuinely life-changing and I’m really happy I did it. Everybody loves the character and posting about it, so it makes me happy that people can see the funny side.
