A tragic incident occurred in south London on Friday night as a car being pursued by police was involved in a fatal crash with two other vehicles. The collision took place on Wickham Road, Croydon, near the junction with Shirley Road, resulting in the death of the driver of the pursued vehicle. The deceased driver, a 63-year-old man, was suspected of using cloned number plates on his vehicle. His two passengers, both 61-year-old men, were taken into custody on suspicion of being passengers in a stolen vehicle. Furthermore, one of the passengers was also arrested for possession of class A drugs. The individuals arrested remain in custody as the investigation into the incident continues.

The series of events leading to the crash began at 20:28 BST when police officers initiated a pursuit of a vehicle believed to be displaying cloned number plates. Following the crash, emergency services responded to the scene, with the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade providing medical treatment to the injured individuals.
