Two individuals, Stuart Maisner & Bob Dale, reported on a tragic incident that occurred at a drum and bass music festival in Kent, where a man in his 20s lost his life. The man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital (QEQM) in a severe condition from the event held at Dreamland amusement park on a hot Saturday afternoon. Despite efforts, the man later passed away at the hospital. The festival had to be cut short due to the extreme heat, with the venue citing health concerns.

Following the incident, Kent Police confirmed the man’s death and stated that they were looking into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. The police assured that the death was not deemed suspicious, and a report was being prepared for the coroner. Rick Everitt, the leader of Thanet District Council, expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased man, highlighting the council’s role in understanding the full scope of what had occurred. He discouraged speculation and emphasized the need for accuracy and sensitivity in such situations.

The festival, which was scheduled to conclude at 22:45 BST, was forced to close early at around 18:30 BST due to the intense heat. Artists such as Andy C, Wilkinson, and K Motionz were set to perform at the event. An ongoing amber heat alert issued across England warned of potential health risks posed by the high temperatures. This unfortunate incident is not the first at Dreamland, as in June 2024, a 17-year-old named Emily Stokes tragically passed away after consuming MDMA at a drum and bass event held at the same venue. Dreamland has been contacted for further comments on this recent tragedy
