According to a spokesperson from the Palace, the King has expressed deep concern over the emerging claims connected to Mountbatten-Windsor’s behaviour, emphasizing his commitment through both statements and unprecedented measures.

The Palace representative highlighted that while the specific accusations are matters for Andrew himself to respond to, Buckingham Palace stands ready to cooperate fully if contacted by Thames Valley Police. At present, Thames Valley Police are examining whether to launch an investigation following a complaint made by the anti-monarchy group Republic. This complaint accuses Mountbatten-Windsor of misconduct in public office and breaches relating to official secrets.

Recently published emails from the Epstein files raise questions about Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct during official visits. These documents suggest he forwarded confidential reports regarding trips to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam to Jeffrey Epstein shortly after receiving them from his special adviser, Amit Patel. Additionally, sensitive details about investment prospects in Afghanistan were apparently shared with Epstein in December 2010. This has caused concern because official guidelines require trade envoys to maintain confidentiality on sensitive commercial and political information gathered during their duties.

Buckingham Palace reaffirmed that the King and Queen continue to hold the victims of abuse in their thoughts and sympathies. During a visit to Clitheroe, King Charles faced a heckler asking when he first became aware of the allegations against his brother, though the crowd quickly dismissed the question. Meanwhile, a spokesperson from Kensington Palace reiterated that the royal family remains focused on supporting victims, coinciding with Prince William’s scheduled visit to Saudi Arabia. Recent disclosures from the Epstein files have intensified pressure on Mountbatten-Windsor, including claims of a second woman sent to the UK by Epstein and images depicting the prince in compromising situations.
