A fatal collision occurred in Hampshire, resulting in the deaths of a seven-year-old girl and a 43-year-old woman. The incident took place on the A3 road, just to the south of the Hindhead Tunnel near the Surrey-Hampshire border.

The two victims, who were traveling in a red Ford Fiesta, left the carriageway at approximately 10:00 GMT on Thursday. Both individuals, residents of Portsmouth, were declared dead at the scene by the attending authorities.

Following the crash, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary issued a request for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage related to the event to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.

For several hours, the southbound lane of the A3 was closed while police conducted their inquiries into the cause of the accident. The closure was necessary to allow officers to gather evidence and ensure the safety of other road users
