Shortly after the disappearance of schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in Soham in 2002, a journalist’s interview with Ian Huntley, who was then a caretaker, prompted suspicion that led to police involvement.
Brian Farmer, a BBC journalist, reflected on the interview, stating, “At the time I was very concerned about some of the things Ian Huntley was saying. I didn’t think he was telling the truth.”
Currently, Huntley, who was convicted of murdering the two girls, is receiving treatment for severe head injuries sustained during an assault by another prisoner at HMP Frankland, a high-security facility located in County Durham.
The 52-year-old is serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 40 years for the murders of Holly and Jessica in August 2002
