Authorities have arrested three men connected to the Police Federation of England and Wales amid allegations of fraud. The City of London Police’s corruption unit revealed that the arrests followed a substantial investigation into accusations involving the staff organization that represents frontline police officers.

The individuals detained include a 46-year-old man from Surrey, a 51-year-old man from Wales, and a 55-year-old man from Bristol. They were taken into custody on suspicion of fraud through abuse of position. While their identities and specific roles have not been disclosed, police noted that the men either currently hold, or have previously held, senior positions within the Police Federation’s governance and operational framework.

The Police Federation has confirmed its full cooperation with the authorities but declined to provide further comments, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing. Operations linked to the investigation occurred on Wednesday morning, with searches conducted at multiple locations, including the Federation’s headquarters at Federation House in Leatherhead, as well as residences associated with those under scrutiny.

Detective Superintendent James Halkett described the inquiry as “complex and active,” stating that officers are pursuing all possible leads. The City of London’s Domestic Corruption Unit has also urged anyone with relevant information, including current or former staff members, to come forward to assist with the continuing investigation
