A tragic incident occurred in Wolverhampton, where a woman lost her life after being attacked by two dogs at a residence. The event took place on Willis Pearson Avenue, located in the Bilston area, late on Wednesday night around 23:30 BST. Emergency responders were called to the scene following reports that a woman in her seventies had sustained injuries. Unfortunately, the woman was declared dead at the location, according to West Midlands Police.

The two dogs responsible for the attack were not identified as a banned breed. However, they continued to display aggressive behavior toward emergency personnel present at the scene. Due to the ongoing threat, the animals were subsequently put down. A 37-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of being in charge of dogs dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death. He suffered hand injuries during the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment and further evaluation.

Police investigations are still underway, with authorities trying to piece together the events leading up to the fatal attack. Officers have confirmed that the inquiry is in its early stages as they examine the circumstances involving the two dogs. Meanwhile, the house where the attack occurred had its front windows boarded up the next day, and a woman was seen placing flowers outside the property. By early Thursday afternoon, the police had cleared the scene.

West Midlands Ambulance Service responded with two ambulances and paramedics arriving at the private home in Bilston simultaneously with the police. While efforts were made to treat the elderly victim, her injuries proved fatal at the scene. Additionally, a man received treatment for non-serious wounds before being transferred to New Cross Hospital for further assessment.
