An aircraft was forced to make an emergency sea landing off the coast of west Wales, resulting in the successful rescue of two individuals. The incident occurred approximately 10 miles northwest of Cemaes Head in Pembrokeshire.
At 18:06 BST on Friday, Milford Haven Coastguard alerted New Quay RNLI lifeboat station about the aircraft ditching into the water with two people aboard. In response, the New Quay station deployed an all-weather lifeboat to the location. Alongside this, a coastguard helicopter as well as lifeboats from the RNLI stations in Fishguard and Cardigan were dispatched to assist in the rescue effort.
According to New Quay RNLI, the helicopter crew spotted the two casualties in the sea. The Cardigan lifeboat subsequently recovered them from the water.
After the initial recovery, the individuals were transferred to a larger vessel where they received casualty care. They were then transported to a hospital for further medical treatment
