A second individual has been detained in connection with the murder of a teenager who disappeared 28 years ago. Donna Keogh, aged 17 at the time, was last seen in Middlesbrough on April 28, 1998. It is known that she traveled to Leeds during that year. Authorities believe there is a strong suspicion that she was killed soon after going missing.
Cleveland Police reported that a 62-year-old man was arrested in the Manchester area and is currently in custody for questioning. Earlier this year, a separate man aged 64 from Leeds was also arrested on suspicion of murder and remains on bail as the investigation continues. Despite extensive efforts over nearly three decades, Donna Keogh’s body has never been recovered.
Detective Inspector Evan Kirtley, the deputy senior investigating officer, expressed the toll this uncertainty has taken on Donna’s family, saying they have endured “unbearable uncertainty” for almost 30 years. He appealed to anyone with information to come forward, stating, “Somebody out there knows what happened and could tell us, in order to give the family some comfort and peace, after all this time.”
