The crash involved a red Peugeot 107 and a silver Volkswagen Passat. Alongside police and ambulance personnel, fire crews and an air ambulance also responded to the scene. Unfortunately, a male passenger in the Peugeot was pronounced dead at the site.

The female driver of the Peugeot was transported by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge but later succumbed to her injuries. Meanwhile, those inside the Volkswagen Passat sustained only minor injuries, according to a police spokesperson.

Officials anticipated that the road closure resulting from the incident would be lifted later the same evening, allowing traffic to resume along the affected stretch of Debenham Road
