Bonnie Tyler Christmas single Love, Light and Peace to be released

Bonnie Tyler, the iconic Welsh singer known for her distinctive husky voice, passed away at the age of 75 earlier this year. She underwent emergency intestinal surgery in Portugal before her death in July. Despite this sad loss, her final studio recording titled *Love, Light and Peace* is set to be released as a Christmas single on November 13, 2026. This release will come as a tribute to Tyler’s enduring dedication to music.
Robert Sullivan, Bonnie Tyler’s husband of 50 years, expressed his deep sorrow over her passing, describing the year following her death as “heartbreaking.” He shared how much he misses her “every single day.” Sullivan also highlighted Bonnie’s passion for her craft, saying, “Gaynor never stopped working. She loved singing, she loved her fans, and she poured her whole heart into these songs.” He recounted how even during the Covid pandemic, when live shows were impossible, she remained active with interviews via Zoom and continued to work on new material in the studio.
Born Gaynor Hopkins, Tyler grew up in a council house in Neath with a natural love for music. She was discovered by talent scout Roger Bell in a Swansea club, which launched her career. Over the years, her distinctive vocal style earned her the nickname “the female Rod Stewart.” Tyler’s career spanned five decades, taking her from local performances to international fame. In August, fans gathered in Swansea for a celebration of her life held at Swansea Minster, showing the profound impact she had on her community and supporters.
The upcoming single *Love, Light and Peace* was co-written by Chrissie Hammond and the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Terry Britten, with production handled by Britten and David Mackay—both of whom were involved in Tyler’s early recordings. Their collaboration brings Tyler’s musical journey full circle, as Britten first worked with her in 1977 on her debut album *The World Starts Tonight*. November 2026 would have marked an important milestone for Tyler, as it was the month she would have been touring Europe for her Jubilee Tour, commemorating 50 years since her breakthrough hit “Lost in France” reached the UK Singles Chart in 1976
