The Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards 2025 are now open for entries, shining a light on the best in the region’s tourism industry. The awards ceremony is set to take place at Liverpool Cathedral on Thursday, March 5, 2026, recognizing businesses and individuals who excel in the hospitality and tourism sector. With 20 categories, the awards cover various aspects of the industry from accommodations and attractions to food, events, and experiences, including Hotel of the Year, Pub of the Year, and Regenerative Tourism.
Among the returning categories for 2025 are the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award and the International Tourism Award, both of which have catapulted previous winners to national recognition at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. The Independent Tourism Business category is also back, showcasing the diverse array of businesses in the Liverpool City Region that contribute to its unique character and charm. Additionally, a new category for Event or Festival of the Year has been introduced to honor the region’s talent for hosting exceptional events and festivals.
Natalie Wyatt, Managing Director of the Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership, emphasized the energy, creativity, and world-class experiences that define the region’s tourism sector. She encouraged businesses from all backgrounds, including Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic-led enterprises, to participate and showcase their achievements. Councillor Mike Wharton highlighted the importance of tourism in driving the region’s economy and creating memorable experiences for visitors, urging all tourism businesses to join the celebration of excellence and creativity in the region.
Liverpool BID Company returns as the headline sponsor for the fifth consecutive year, with Liverpool Football Club as the associate sponsor. The event aims not only to recognize excellence but also to inspire ambition, innovation, and pride across the tourism sector. With a lineup of category sponsors supporting the awards, the event promises to uncover inspirational stories and outstanding talent from the region. Key dates for the 2025 awards include applications opening on July 10, 2025, and the award ceremony taking place on March 5, 2026, at Liverpool Cathedral.
