Privacy policy
Last updated
This policy covers the Juice Liverpool website, the Juice Liverpool app for iPhone and iPad, and Juice Liverpool on smart speakers. The short version: we don't ask who you are, we don't use cookies, analytics or advertising, and we don't track you.

What we collect
“Love it”. When you love a song, your browser or the app sends us a random ID that it made up the first time you used it, along with the song. We keep the ID with the song and the time, so we can count how many people love each song and ignore repeat taps. The ID isn't linked to your name, email, account or device details, and we don't use it for anything else.
Server logs. Like most websites, our servers note technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser and the time. We use these only to keep the service running and secure, and keep them for a short time.
We don't collect your name, email address, location, contacts or anything else about you.
What's stored on your device
The website keeps your “Love it” ID and the songs you've loved in your browser's local storage, and the app keeps the same on your phone. This stays on your device; clearing your browser's site data, or deleting the app, removes it. We don't use cookies.
Other services
Some features load content from other companies, which see your IP address when they do:
- the live stream, from our streaming provider, Sonair Radio
- the traffic map: OpenFreeMap on the website, and Apple Maps in the app
- in the app, “Listen on Apple Music” looks the song up with Apple's iTunes Search, sending Apple the song's title and artist (nothing about you)
Links to Skiddle (for event tickets), Spotify, Apple Music and news sources take you to their own sites and apps, where their own privacy policies apply. Our links to Skiddle carry our affiliate tag, so Skiddle can tell us when tickets are bought through Juice Liverpool; it doesn't tell us who bought them.
On a smart speaker, your request goes through Amazon (or the speaker's maker), whose privacy policy applies. We just provide the stream; we don't receive your voice recordings or account details.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. As the “Love it” ID isn't linked to you, we can only find your loves if you tell us your ID, which the website keeps in your browser's local storage as juice.clientId. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Juice Liverpool is a radio station for a general audience, and isn't aimed at children: some of the music we play has lyrics or themes that aren't suitable for younger listeners. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
