If you missed out on attending the Liverpool Adult Learning Service open days in July, fret not! There are still plenty of opportunities for learners to connect with the team in the upcoming month. Following the success of four open days in July, experienced ALS team members and tutors will be available for four more days in September to provide information about the courses on offer.
The open days will be held on a drop-in basis on various dates and locations, including Newsham Adult Learning Centre, Park Road Adult Learning Centre, Granby Adult Learning Centre ALC, and Norris Adult Learning Centre. These open days will provide insight into the range of courses available starting in September, which cover subjects such as maths, English, ICT skills, catering, sewing, Arabic, business, volunteering, and interpreting. Additionally, formal qualifications in beauty, working with children, and supporting teaching and learning in schools will also be offered.
If you are curious about the courses offered by ALS, rest assured that many of them are free for learners who meet certain criteria. The Liverpool ALS has been recognized as “good” by Ofsted, with outstanding personal development and attitudes of learners noted during the inspection. Funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, the ALS supports approximately 4,500 learners each year, ensuring access to quality education and skills training in the region.
Cllr Joanne Kennedy, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Employment, Educational Attainment and Skills, emphasized the importance of open days for prospective learners, acknowledging that returning to the classroom can be a significant step for adults.
