Sony Music Entertainment Germany has created a new sub-label with a laser-like focus on techno music. The Berlin-based imprint, noted. records, was announced on 26 April alongside the announcement of its first artist, the Naples DJ and producer Anfisa Letyago. The label has pledged to amplify the voices of emerging artists to promote techno culture around the world.

Jean-Sebastien Permal, Sony Music’s Vice President of Africa and Europe A&R, will head up noted. records. The new label provides resources and support for artists, producers and writers, and seeks to create a significant cultural impact by connecting a broad network of musicians.

The timely launch of the techno-specific label will build on the genre’s increasing popularity, according to Permal. The first release on noted. records is techno track Feelin’ by Anfisa Letyago. The cut was produced and written by Letyago and features her own vocals.
