Phil Campbell, the renowned rock guitarist, has passed away at the age of 64, according to a statement from his family. They shared that his death came peacefully after a prolonged and brave fight in intensive care following a complicated major surgery.
Campbell was remembered by his loved ones as a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a proud grandfather affectionately known as “Bampi.” His family expressed how deeply he was loved by those around him and noted that he will be greatly missed. They also highlighted that his legacy, music, and the countless memories he helped create will endure indefinitely.
Known for his work with Motörhead, a band famous for heavy metal classics like “Ace of Spades,” Campbell later formed his own band, touring with his three sons. Recently, he performed a sold-out concert at the Muni arts centre in Pontypridd, his hometown.
