A tragic incident occurred near Dervock, County Antrim, in the early hours of Sunday when a 20-year-old man lost his life following a traffic accident. The collision took place shortly before 1:00 a.m. BST on Castlecat Road.

According to Detective Inspector Stewart from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s collision investigation unit, the police were alerted to an accident involving a grey BMW. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene. The young male driver, originally from the Crossgar area, was transported to hospital for medical treatment but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The affected road was closed overnight to allow for investigation and clearance but has since been reopened to traffic. Authorities are now appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward and assist with enquiries.
