A 19-year-old man, Carlo Tritta, has been sentenced to prison after grooming a 14-year-old girl he initially met through the online gaming platform Roblox. Over a period of time, Tritta repeatedly sent messages pressuring the teenager to share sexually explicit images of herself.
Detective Superintendent Rod Kenny from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary described the victim as being from Greater Manchester. He emphasized that the teenager believed she was involved in a loving relationship, but in reality, it was characterized by manipulation, control, and abuse.
Tritta pleaded guilty to several offences, including making indecent images of a child, engaging in sexual communications with a child, and causing a child between the ages of 13 and 15 to watch a sexual act. Additionally, he admitted to two counts of intimidating a witness and causing criminal damage. For these crimes, he received a prison sentence of 28 months.
During the sentencing hearing at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, Judge Kieran Rankin noted that Tritta was aware early in the relationship that the girl was under 16. The judge also remarked on the deep and harmful impact Tritta’s conduct had on both the victim and her family
