A man has been formally charged with the murder of Finbar Sullivan, who tragically lost his life after being stabbed in Primrose Hill. The 21-year-old, a filmmaking student, was discovered with knife wounds near the popular north London viewpoint on Tuesday evening.
The Metropolitan Police arrested 27-year-old Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, from Southbury Road in Enfield, on Friday. Following his arrest, Ogunyankinnu was charged with murder this past Sunday and is scheduled to appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Meanwhile, a separate 25-year-old individual who was initially detained on suspicion of assisting an offender has since been released without further action. Authorities confirmed that the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
Finbar Sullivan was studying film at the London Screen Academy. His father, Chris Sullivan, 65, expressed his grief to BBC London, describing how much Finbar meant to those around him. “All of his friends said he was the light, the leader. His friends’ parents loved him. This is why it’s so tragic,” he said, reflecting on the loss of his only son.
In a related development, police also found another man in his twenties with stab wounds on Regent’s Park Road, close to where Sullivan was attacked. This individual was taken to a hospital for treatment, with doctors assessing his injuries as neither life-threatening nor life-changing
