Four individuals were hospitalized after a bare-chested man was seen wandering through the streets of Edinburgh wielding a large weapon. The disturbing events unfolded on Friday evening, with footage circulating on social media capturing various moments of the man’s erratic behavior.

One video showed the same man repeatedly striking the locked door of a pizzeria located on Leith Walk, while bystanders hurriedly ran away from the scene. The pizzeria staff responded by lowering the electronic shutters, preventing further damage as the man continued to batter the door panes before eventually moving on.

Additional clips appeared to document the man causing chaos at multiple locations. At a petrol station, he was caught on CCTV standing beside a black vehicle whose windscreen had been shattered. Inside the kiosk, he walked around several times, knocking over shelves and scattering goods across the floor. Nearby, he was also seen approaching a stopped car at a road junction, still bare-chested and carrying a weapon.

Police intervened and have confirmed making an arrest, reassuring the public that there is no ongoing threat. Medical personnel were observed treating a clothed man with his arm in a sling outside an estate agency, where a police cordon had been established. During the arrest, officers restrained the topless man, who resisted by shouting and swearing, claiming he was “protecting the country.” At this stage, no updates on the condition of the four injured individuals have been released
