A man has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder following the death of an individual at a summer solstice gathering. Authorities responded to reports of a deceased person discovered at the Nine Ladies Stone Circle located in Stanton Lees, Derbyshire, shortly after 13:30 BST on Monday.

Derbyshire Police revealed that the deceased is a 26-year-old man whose identity has not yet been officially confirmed. His family has been informed and is currently receiving support from specialist officers. Meanwhile, a 41-year-old male suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

To assist with the ongoing investigation, the police have established a dedicated public portal, encouraging anyone with information to come forward. Detective Inspector Tony Owen of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, which is heading the inquiry, issued a direct appeal: “I am urgently appealing for anyone who attended the summer solstice event over the weekend to please speak to officers as soon as they can.”
