Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has disclosed earnings of £270,000 for promoting gold bullion, marking the largest payment he has reported since becoming a Member of Parliament. According to his official declaration of interests, the compensation from Direct Bullion was for approximately four hours of work per month over a span of three months.
Labour chair Anna Turley criticized Farage, stating, “Nigel Farage clearly has the Midas touch when it comes to lining his pockets instead of doing his day job.” Responding to these remarks, a representative for Farage confirmed, “As has previously been reported and declared, Nigel Farage is a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion.”
Farage’s financial disclosures reveal previous payments from Direct Bullion, including £91,200 in February 2025 and £135,000 in November 2025. In addition, he recently declared about £18,402 for his role as a presenter on GB News. Alongside these reported incomes, Farage has encountered scrutiny over an undeclared £5 million gift from cryptocurrency investor and billionaire Christopher Harborne. Farage maintained that he was not required to declare this gift because it was received prior to his election and was not considered a political donation. The Parliamentary Standards Commissioner is currently investigating whether any rules were breached.
Aside from these earnings, Farage had previously recorded more than £80,000 from creating personalized videos on the Cameo platform. However, earlier this year, he announced the suspension of this service, citing security concerns. While MPs are permitted to undertake second jobs in addition to their parliamentary duties, they must declare any income exceeding £300 annually and are prohibited from providing paid advice related to parliamentary matters. On this, Turley remarked, “He should be focused on putting more pounds back in his Clacton constituents’ pockets rather than racking up payments off the back of gold sales.
