Authorities have uncovered substantial quantities of illicit drugs hidden beneath the ground at a festival location just days prior to the event’s scheduled start. The discovery was made ahead of the Creamfields Festival, which will soon welcome over 80,000 attendees to Daresbury, Cheshire.
During a thorough search of the festival site, police unearthed around 204 canisters containing nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as laughing gas. Additionally, they seized large bags filled with various tablets, including ecstasy, MDMA, and ketamine, as confirmed by Cheshire Police.
Superintendent Andy Blizard commented on the situation, stating, “Every year, we counter a number of brazen individuals who think they can outsmart us by concealing drugs from view or burying them at the site months in advance.” He emphasized the strict approach law enforcement takes toward drug-related offenses at the event.
