A man has died following a drive-by shooting in south London, prompting a murder investigation by the police. The incident occurred on Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, with emergency services arriving shortly after reports of multiple gunshots at 01:14 BST on Saturday.

The fatality has been identified as 25-year-old Keanu Taylor, who was taken to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries, according to the Metropolitan Police. Along with him, three other individuals aged 21, 47, and 70 were also hospitalized; their wounds, however, are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Authorities have yet to make any arrests in connection with the shooting.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo expressed sympathy for the victim’s loved ones, stating, “Our thoughts are with Keanu’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.” He also acknowledged the impact on the community, adding, “This was a shocking act of violence which has had a devastating impact on those involved and the local community. I want to reassure residents that we are working urgently to identify and apprehend those responsible.”

On Saturday evening, police were seen conducting searches on a grassy area near the Southwyck House estate on Coldharbour Lane. According to local residents, the incident may have happened during a barbecue party held there. Shop worker Moh John, who works at a nearby supermarket, described sheltering people inside his store as chaos unfolded outside. He explained that the people who came in were “scared,” and he kept the door locked for some time before reopening it.
